Sophie Conran Patterns
Born into a prodigiously talented family, Sophie Conran has inherited her father’s eye for design and her mother’s love of food – and has combined the two with her own love of the home to create a wonderful collection of tableware, glassware and home accessories.
She spent her teenage years immersed in the world of fashion, initially working with couture milliner Stephen Jones, then with her brother Jasper. In her late teens, she made her first forays into the world of interior design – an area in which she continues to delight. She has also kept herself busy designing tableware and wallpapers, planning parties and writing cookery books – Sophie Conran’s Pies and Soups and Stews – as well as being a regular contributor to a range of lifestyle magazines, including In Style, Living Etc, Junior and Home Beautiful.
Sophie Conran’s collaboration with Portmeirion is something of a match made in heaven, bringing together an exceptionally talented designer and a manufacturer with a strong history of championing quintessentially British design. Available across dining essentials, decorative accessories and glassware, the organic shapes and quirky embossing are typical of the freshness that Sophie brings to all of her creations.
