What are your hours of business?

We are open from Monday to Friday 9:00am until 5:30pm, GMT. Customers from outside the UK are advised to remember the time difference — please use this link to find out what time it is now in the United Kingdom. www.worldtimeserver.com We welcome visitors but it is always best to telephone first as we can get very busy.

What method of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards without penalties, (except American Express which incurs an extra 1.5%) this is the best method of payment for buying tableware from us. They can be authorised quickly and they provide protection for you as a customer. Credit/Debit Card Payments are processed by Barclays Bank EPDQ. Barclays offers secure credit card authorisation on the internet.

How do I sell my china to you?

1. All china purchased by us must be in a saleable condition. No chips, cracks or crazing are acceptable. Grade one MINT Condition. Barely used almost as new. No chips scratches or damage. Grade two VGC minor usage light scratches only no chips no wear damage. Grade three Good condition, but maybe factory seconds. We only buy seconds when the pattern is rare and hard to source and even then not obvious seconds. We do not buy china that is chipped, cracked repaired or broken. We do not buy china where trims or pattern have been eroded or the colour has faded. We do not buy china where the glaze has been breached by excessive usage or dishwasher abrasion. We do not buy china that shows excessive cut marks. Cut marks can only be seen by holding the plate by the edges up into the light and tilting it, then they clearly become visable. It is extremely difficult to identify seconds as each china manufacturer marks their seconds differently. The signs to look out for are deep scratches through the pattern or trademark on the underside of items. Or two drilled shallow holes in the same place. We do not buy French, Polish or Spanish china. We mainly purchase English makes but we do buy some Noritake and most Villeroy & Boch patterns. If your tableware meets our very high criteria then please complete the details on our form and submit it. Once we have received that information from you, we will check our database and contact you with the outcome. If a sale is agreed, we can then discuss arrangements for collecting the china.

Piece Quality

Perfect : means china that is in mint condition. Could be brand new or pre-owned. Seconds : means factory seconds, could be brand new or pre-owned. Worn : means pre-owned china that has in our opinion been subjected to more than average use. Could have scratch marks to plates and bowls or may have wear to trim. On the whole we only keep worn china when the pattern is hard to source. Customers can rest assured that we never send out china that we would not be happy to receive ourselves.

What manufacturers do you stock?

Most British manufacturers also some foreign such as Noritake, Thomas and Villeroy & Boch.

What manufacturers do you NOT stock?

We do not stock Royal Copenhagen, Limoges, Barratts, Biltmore, Royal Kent.

Do you offer a wedding list service?

Yes we do offer a wedding list service with free delivery to one location.

Do you do glassware?

We now stock Waterford Crystal, Edinburgh Crystal, & Stuart. Glasses by Royal Doulton, Wedgwood, Villeroy & Boch and the entire Denby Range.

Do you do cutlery?

Yes we do stock cutlery in boxed canteens, and individual pieces in a huge variety, suberb quality by Villeroy & Boch. Classics to state of the art contemporary to downright quirky. There are seven items in one place setting. 44 piece set is place settings for six people plus two serving pieces. 60 piece set is place settings for eight people plus four serving pieces.

Are there any extra charges?

The prices you see on the website are the prices you pay. The only additional charge is postage. UK Delivery - Standard (usally within 3 working days): £8.00 Single item under £20.00 is £7.00 24 hour delivery:from £12.00 International we will quote before purchase. Within the EEC is normally £18.00 as a guide price.

Do You sell Kitchenware?

Yes we have recently added the superb professional chef knives from Mundial. Asst colours and quality.

Do you do wedding and gift lists?

Yes another recent addition to our websites. We do online wedding lists with our 25% discount and free delivery within the UK to one postal address. Fantastic value for money

How long will delivery take within the UK?

We send the majority of our UK Mainland parcels by Parcelforce 48 hours. You can of course upgrade for an increased price to 24 hour delivery, before noon, or before 9am. If your order is placed on a Friday or weekend the item will not be shipped until the Monday. Small items are posted first class recorded Royal Mail but can sometimes take a while to arrive.
